Dr. Benjarong Suwankiri, Senior Executive Vice President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), welcomed representatives from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Mr. Peter Brewer, Thailand Mission Chief, at EXIM Thailand’s Head Office on May 27, 2025. The meeting focused on reviewing Thailand’s economic and export outlook in light of the U.S. Reciprocal Tariffs Policy and assessing its potential impact on Thai financial institutions and businesses, particularly SMEs. The IMF delegation also gained insights into EXIM Thailand’s role as a state-owned specialized financial institution under the Ministry of Finance, which provides financial and non-financial support to help Thai entrepreneurs adjust their business and marketing strategies to remain competitive in the evolving global trade environment.
