EXIM Thailand Meets with Public Sector Partners in Lao PDR to Support Thai-Lao Trade and Investment
Mrs. Warangkana Wongkhaluang, Senior Executive Vice President, Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), recently paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Bounleua Sinxayvoravong, Governor of the Bank of the Lao PDR (BOL), and H.E. Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Lao PDR, to exchange information on the economy, trade, and investment and discussed ways to cooperate in supporting Thai-Lao entrepreneurs at the BOL Head Office and the Embassy of Thailand in Vientiane. In addition, Mrs. Warangkana also visited Mr. Vongsakoun Yingyong, Managing Director of Electricite du Laos (EDL), to congratulate him on his recent appointment as new Managing Director of EDL at EDL Head Office. The Lao PDR's economy is expected to recover at a rate of approximately 2-3% between 2021 and 2023, following the easing of the COVID-19 situation and boosted by tourism. Additionally, the China-Lao PDR railway is enhancing the country’s transportation and logistics sector, supporting exports, particularly agricultural products, and attracting investment in the manufacturing sector.
