EXIM Thailand Joins Hands with Ministry of Commerce and Alliances  to Enhance Capital and Knowledge for SMEs’ Export Startup and Expansion
Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, presided over the SMEs-Financial Institutions Loan Matching project and honorarily witnessed the loan approval ceremony between Dr. Rak Vorrakitpokatorn, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), and 7 SMEs that have been granted credit facilities from EXIM Thailand in a total amount of 22.2 million baht under the project at the Ministry of Commerce on July 7, 2021.   
The project is a collaboration between the Ministry of Commerce and EXIM Thailand together with 5 alliances, namely the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand, the Federation of Thai Industries, Thai National Shippers’ Council, the Federation of Thai SME and Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG), to enable SMEs that are exporters or those in export value chain in the Ministry of Commerce’s networks and EXIM Thailand’s clients to access lending sources of special interest rates and conditions, and have higher liquidity and export capabilities amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The facility designed by the Bank for this project will be a credit facility with a special interest rate of 3.99% per annum throughout the project term, requiring no asset-based collateral but secured only by a letter of guarantee from TCG and free TCG guarantee fee for 2 years. The credit line will be approved within 7 business days in conjunction with export credit insurance policy to safeguard SMEs against non-payment by buyers abroad and entitlement to participating in international trade training courses provided by the Ministry of Commerce and EXIM Excellence Academy. The total credit support for the project is 2,500 million baht and the availability period will be from today until September 7, 2021.
