EXIM Thailand Extends Merchant Marine Financing to RCL to Enhance Competitiveness of Thai Container Shipping Industry
Miss Atchanoma Porntharuckcharoen (right), First Vice President of Business Promotion Department 3, Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), Mr. Sumet Tantuvanich (center), Director and Managing Director of Regional Container Lines Public Company Limited (RCL) and Mr. Sutep Tranantasin (left), RCL’s Director (Executive Director), recently signed a loan agreement worth 29.71 million US dollars to finance the upgrading of Thai entrepreneurs’ container shipping capability with an aim to enhance a Thai maritime business’ competitiveness in the region, amid the industry slowdown today, at RCL’s office. The Bank’s loan provision is in line with the government’s policy to promote the development of Thailand’s merchant marine business to drive the growth of the country’s export and related businesses.
