EXIM Thailand Joins Forces with Alliances  to Support Use of Electric Buses in EEC
Dr. Rak Vorrakitpokatorn, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand); Dr. Chula Sukmanop, Secretary General, Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC); Dr. Kitipong Promwong, President, Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO); Prof. Dr. Sukit Limpijumnong, President, National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA); Assoc. Prof. Prasert Rerkkriangkrai, Vice President of Chiang Mai University; Mr. Veeradej Tejapaibul, President of Thai Renewable Energy Association (RE 100); and Dr. Suvit Toraninpanich, Chairman, Clean Energy for Peoples Foundation, jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in supporting the use of electric vehicles in the mass transport system and staff shuttle fleets in the EEC areas at EEC Office on September 28, 2023.
This collaboration between EXIM Thailand and its alliance agencies in both public and private sectors aims to promote and support the development of technology, transfer of knowledge, and use of transport systems with low carbon emissions. This will ensure efficiency in carbon credit management in the country’s principal industrial zones, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gases and being a key driver empowering the country toward the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050 and net zero emissions by 2065.
