EXIM Thailand Joins Hands with DBD, Ministry of Commerce in Online Business Matching Program to Expand Thai Franchise Businesses in CLMV and Elsewhere in ASEAN

Mr. Pisit Serewiwattana (second left), President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), and Mr. Sathaporn Ruamnapaya (second right), Director of Business Promotion and Development Division, Department of Business Development (DBD), Ministry of Commerce, recently joined the opening ceremony of online business matching between Thai-brand franchisors and foreign investors to promote the expansion of Thai franchise businesses in CLMV (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam) and elsewhere in ASEAN which has relatively robust economic growth and increasing purchasing power while Thai  entrepreneurs could take advantage of Thailand’s social and culture similarities to those countries. The Event was co-organized by EXIM Thailand and DBD, under the “Thai Franchise towards Global” business matching program at the Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok. At present, there are 49 Thai franchise brands operating overseas, with total value over 12,000 million baht, most of which were in the food and beverage sector, followed by education and spa businesses.
