Email spoofing / Phishing email

Defined as fraudulent email activity by using the bank’s email address or one that is similar to send counterfeited content or unauthenticated attachment to random users.

Target of email spoofing

Tricking email recipient to fill in sensitive information such as account numbers, or details of beneficiary bank in a form type format.
Tricking email recipient to transfer money to a specific account number, or a beneficiary bank which the forger has created.

Detected fraudulent schemes

How to deal with email spoofing

Do not reply to email that asks you to provide sensitive information i.e. account number, or beneficiary bank.
Use caution when receiving email with attachment from unknown sender.
Forward the suspicious email to info@exim.go.th for verification.
Delete email suspected of containing virus.
Check the accuracy of your transaction, especially money transfer.

The bank does not have a policy for sending emails which asks the recipients to fill in sensitive information
